We are very pleased to inform that on 21st of May 2014 first EPISTOP patient has been randomized!
This part of EPISTOP project aims to compare effects of standard antiepileptic treatment in patients diagnosed as having epilepsy after clinical seizures vs after electroencephalographic epileptiform discharges. We are looking forward to enroll more patients soon in all 9 clinical sites engaged in this part of the study.
The kick-off meeting of the EPISTOP project took place on January 17 - 18, 2014 in Warsaw. It was attended by doctors and scientists of the institutions and SMEs involved in the project, as well as representatives of the Polish Ministry of Health, the scientific community and journalists interested in the subject of Medicine. The meeting was moderated by Iwona Schymalla .
- "This day of the official launch of the project is a celebration and triumph for Polish medicine, science and innovative research," said Igor Radziewicz-Winnicki, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Health.
- "It is one of the few projects where the coordination is in Polish hands. Therefore, we realize how much responsibility rests on the Institute to ensure the efficient organization and successfull completion of the project," added prof. Małgorzata Syczewska, Director of The Children's Memorial Health Institute.
Prof. Jerzy Buzek addressed words of support to the scientists.
All guests emphasized the innovative nature of the research and stimulating discussions went on long after the official part of the meeting was finished.

During the meeting, we would like to present the objectives of the project and introduce all partners from nine countries involved in the project.
The official part of the meeting is going to take place on 17th of January at 10.30 am.
Press conference will start at 12.00pm during which prof. Sergiusz Jóźwiak, prof. Lieven Lagae and prof. David J. Kwiatkowski will explain the aims of the project and answer all questions.
