During the 31st International Epilepsy Congress in Istanbul, Hanna Hulshof (UMC Utrecht) won the award for ‘best poster’ with her poster entitled “Brain MRI abnormalities in TSC1 and TSC2 patients – a pilot study”. Furthermore, EPISTOP was well represented with posters from Jackelien, Arnand, Angelika (AMC Amsterdam), Theresa (MUW Wien) and Barbora (FN MOTOL Prague).

At the International TSC Conference in Windsor, prof. Paolo Curatolo received the prestigious Manuel Gomez Award 2015 from Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (TSA). This award is for "creative or pioneering efforts that have appreciably improved either the understanding of the disease or the clinical care available for individuals with tuberous sclerosis."


On behalf of Charité – Universitaetsmedizin Berlin, host of General Assembly 2015 of EPISTOP project, we are delighted to inform you that the next meeting will take place on 16th and 17th of November 2015 in Berlin, Germany.

Representatives of each Partner of EPISTOP project will attend the meeting. During the meeting, we are going to discuss progress in project implementation and make all strategic decisions. Moreover sessions in groups – clinical group and molecular genetic group - will be organized. At the same time an internal meeting of the members of External Scientific Advisory Board will take place. SAB members’ task is to monitor and support project activities undertaken by project Partners. Minutes from the meeting will be published on the website in November.

First patient has been enrolled to the study in Prague. This makes a total of 53 patients included in the EPISTOP study.

Two more patients were enrolled to EPISTOP in Poland. This means recruitment has reached half of our target!
